Turning the external appearance into the interior one through the intervention of removing the layers of plaster to the brick, displays the most domestic state of the wall of the Balkan.
Intimately and personally, the ‘raw’ stage of the wall holds a specific relation to the home, and therefore the space that temporarily represents home of my art - I turn into the most domesticated version by combining it with the exterior look of the house in which I grew up. Stepping in the zone beyond mere individual symbolism, the intervention provides the space for possible deconstruction as well as for the renovation. It also implies the regenerative capability that stays as an aftermath of the intervention itself, that may be questioned or presumed, but definately does not leave indifference. |
